TAXI FARES

Barcelona airport taxi fares: what you pay in 2026

A taxi between Barcelona Airport and your hotel normally uses the taximeter. The final amount depends on the route, the applicable tariff, traffic and supplements. Knowing the components is more useful than expecting one price for every address in Barcelona.

Daytime and night-time meter rates

The IMET publishes the metropolitan taxi tariffs. T-1 applies on working weekdays from 08:00 to 20:00. T-2 applies at night, on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. These tariff names are separate from airport terminals T1 and T2: your terminal does not determine the day or night rate.

The waiting rate replaces distance charging when the vehicle is stopped or moving slowly. Do not estimate the fare by adding both the full driving time and all the kilometres. A trip crossing a tariff boundary can also involve more than one rate.

Meter componentT-1: weekday daytimeT-2: night, weekend or holiday
Starting fare€2.80€2.80
Distance rate€1.35/km€1.66/km
Waiting / slow traffic rate€27.75/hour€27.75/hour

The airport supplement and minimum fare

An airport origin or destination adds a €4.60 supplement. A journey starting at the airport has a €21 minimum, including applicable supplements. This minimum is not a fixed airport-to-centre fare: longer journeys can cost more.

Other supplements can depend on the exact pick-up location, passenger count or special night. For example, collecting passengers at Sants station differs from simply driving past it. Tell Samad where you need to be picked up so the request can be reviewed properly.

An illustrative 20 km calculation

This arithmetic example assumes a 20 km journey between the airport and an ordinary city address, one to four passengers, no waiting and no supplements beyond the airport charge. It is an illustration, not a quote for your hotel or a prediction of the meter.

The totals exclude any applicable approach to the pick-up, tolls, additional waiting and other supplements. Your actual route may be shorter or longer; congestion can change the amount even when the distance is similar.

When is an airport taxi price actually fixed?

The official T-4 fare is €46 specifically between Barcelona Airport and the Moll Adossat cruise terminals, in either direction, including supplements. It does not apply to every hotel, the whole port or all cruise and ferry departure points.

The T-3 fixed-price system is available through eligible taxi mediation apps validated by the IMET. An estimate from this website is not a T-3 booking, a guaranteed maximum or a fixed-price offer.

Plan your budget, then request your ride

Use the fare estimator with your actual addresses, date and departure time, then keep the proposed budget separate from the final metered amount. You can request a ride without creating an account and pay in the taxi by card or cash.

Samad checks availability before confirming. He does not work on Thursdays. The published metered tariffs used here apply through 17 January 2027; consult the official tariff information for later travel dates.
